Pikachu Beach Surf Coloring Page
Pikachu Beach Surf Coloring Page
Pikachu catching waves brings together two things kids love: Pokémon’s most famous character and the fun of beach life. This scene gives you the chance to color both the energetic action of surfing and the relaxed feeling of a sunny day by the ocean.
What colors work best?
Start with Pikachu’s classic yellow and red cheeks, but consider adding some peachy highlights where the sun hits. The surfboard is your chance to get creative—try tropical patterns with turquoise, hot pink, and orange stripes, or go for a sunset gradient. For the ocean, layer different blues from deep navy in the shadows to bright cerulean and even seafoam green in the wave crests. Don’t forget that wet fur looks darker, so you might shade Pikachu’s lower half with golden yellow or light orange to show the water splashing up.
Did you know?
Pikachu’s surfing adventure actually comes from Pokémon Yellow, where there was a special mini-game called Pikachu’s Beach. Only Pikachu that knew the move Surf could access it, which made it a rare find. In the Pokémon world, Electric-types and water don’t usually mix well in battle, but Pikachu learning Surf was a special exception that made this combination extra memorable for fans.
How to color this one
Colored pencils work beautifully here because you can build up layers for the water and create that translucent wave effect. Start light and add darker blues in the curved parts of the waves. For the foam and spray, leave some white space or use a white gel pen at the end. Markers give you bold, bright colors for the surfboard and beach ball if those are in your scene. If you’re working on the sand, mix tans and light browns, maybe adding small dots in darker brown for texture.
Who’ll love this?
Pokémon fans who enjoy summer themes will have fun with this one, especially kids around 6-10 who are comfortable coloring within lines but still like recognizable characters. It’s also nice for rainy days when you’re missing beach weather, or as a low-key activity during summer break when kids want something Pokémon-related but not screen time.
